Types of Survey |
| |
Building Survey (Previously known as a Structural Survey) |
| A thorough inspection and assessment of the construction and condition of a building, and is more likely to be required where properties are of unusual construction, old, comparartively large, extensively altered or modernised. Reports include photographs but unless specifically requested, exclude a Market Valuation or re-building costs. |

| |
Homebuyer Report |
| A standardised report, 12-16 pages long, focussing on essentials (defects which are urgent or significant). Meant for properties which are conventional in type and construction, and apparently in reasonable condition. Does not include photographs but will report on Market Value and re-building costs. |

| |
A Building Survey takes longer than a Homebuyer Report and in consequence is more expensive.
